Our full communication offering includes:
- Mesh (both its base mesh but also its WiFi), using Hypha
- Cellular using Peplink (in this case Peplink was just used for DHCP and not cellular)
- Satcom using Starlink
The demonstration took place in Knightsbridge, London, a built up area with high building and narrow streets. The car was kitted out with a mesh node, linked to Peplink, and Satcom.
Users walked hundreds of metres away, with smartphone connected to their mesh radios WiFi (in airplane mode to ensure it was our mesh solution providing communications).
As they walked around they conducted a successful video call to their Police HQ in an Asian country:
Smartphone > Mesh radio > Mesh > (Peplink) > Starlink > HQ.
The setup can be permanently fixed into a vehicle, or in this case, quickly and easily temporarily setup in the vehicle on hand at the time.
Each mesh radio can have up to 10 devices connected to it – smartphone, tablet, laptop, camera, sensors etc. One of the most popular uses of the WiFi function is to use TAK software, but since it a WiFi hotspot it has endless uses.
